PA Summary
Fullsteam has a pro-quality PA system adequate for the majority of clubs that hold 500 or fewer
patrons. We have 5000watts dedicated to our FOH (front of house) sound: 3kw to the subwoofers and 2Kw to the Main/full
range speakers. We carry the amplifiers/eq's and wedges neccessary to do 2 stage monitor splits and one in-ear
monitoring split.

As far as describing the components of our sound, I'll break it into:
1) Rack and Stacks: (Speakers, amps and crossovers)
2) Mixing board and effects
3) Microphones
Racks and Stacks
The key element to our FOH sound clarity are the Yorkville EF508 speakers we use. We have four
of these speakers and generally use them in either two or four speaker configurations. The Yorkville EF508 is a two-way,
mid-sized speaker system that can function as either a standalone passive cabinet or as a biamped processor controlled cabinet.
It features a four" voice coil made by B&C, a 15" woofer and a 2" B&C mid/high driver coupled to a proprietary 90
by 40 degree Yorkville waveguide horn. We deliver 500watts of power to each of the cabinets via an E&WPS2000 amplifer.

Our low-end sound is very important to us (as it is to any rock band). To get the chest thump that
we are looking for we had to go through a number of opitons. First we had Peavey SP118X subs and while they were adequate,
they just were'nt quite what we were looking for. Next, we got a pair of Yorkville LS1208 subs. The are 180lb
monsters that really put out booming bass. Problem for us was too much boom and not enough thump! I had
purchased a small pair of JBL MP418s subs to do small clubs and found them to be outstanding for our application in the small
clubs. So, I picked up another pair of the JBL's and we now use four of these subs at a typical show. We
get lot's of chest thumping bass that is clear and articulate.

To have low end thump you need power. I also went through a couple options here as well. It seems like
can get cheap reliable power at the cost of weight and power draw. In other words, if you have lots of dedicated AC
circuits and some strong unyielding backs, get the cheap stuff. We went down that road and blowing circuits at
clubs just plain sucks. So, I paid quite a bit for a Lab Gruppen FP3400 pro series amp. It is very gentle
on the power draw, weighs only 23lbs and does a kick-ass job of driving all four JBL subs.

To manage the frequency spit between the Yorkville EF508 main speakers and the JBL MP418s Subwoofers is a DBX 223XL crossover.
We set ours at about 90hz and leave it alone.
